WESTERN HAS YOU COVERED

AVIATION HANGARS

Investing in a new hangar? Western has you covered. Our industry experts are ready to provide thoughtful advice and detail for your project. Western Steel’s custom pre-engineered and structural steel building solutions provide huge advantages for the aviation industry.  Our commercial hangars are capable of clearspan, i.e. column-free interiors up to 300’, that are capable of incorporating an array of design features and architectural elements to transform a design while maintaining optimal costs. Our prefrabricated method results in a custom building solution at a significant cost reduction compared to other hangar construction means.

Our team at Western Steel is trained to value-engineer your project to ensure you receive the best cost for a high yield return on your investment. Our standard designs can be expedited and delivered in just six weeks from design approval and fabrication release.

  • Commercial Aircraft Facility
  • Helicopter Hangars
  • Airplane Maintenance
  • Pilot Training Facility
  • Aircraft Storage

Each project will be thoughtfully evaluated by our Project Managers to meet and exceed your project requirements. Below are a few hangar design considerations that will be discussed before estimating a new hangar project:

  • Aircraft details including clearance height and width requirements. Most single-engine aircraft will have a wingspan of 38’ or less. Schweiss, one of our hangar door affiliates, has a handy reference list of model dimensions from the major private aircraft manufacturers here.
  • Ultimate end-use of the hangar. Will the hangar design include office space, living quarters,
maintenance or storage area? Mezzanine levels are an excellent source for adding office space
or living quarters and will be evaluated during the initial design consultation.
  • Project Location. Local building codes and loads are utilized to determined how much steel is mandatory to fabricate your structure to meet and exceed engineering and reinforce architectural elements.
