A Full Range of Service & Building Solutions Available For Non-Residential, New Construction Projects

Building a new non-residential project can be streamlined with the team at Western Steel. From concept to completion and beyond, we offer comprehensive metal building solutions. When our client, Rock Solid, a full-service soil stabilization, pavement recycling, and reclamation contractor, needed a vehicle maintenance facility, our team provided preconstruction services and material procurement on time and within budget.

Develop A Custom Design.

When creating a new non-residential project, it’s essential to understand all aspects of your needs. Function and flow should be the priority of the design while maintaining visual aesthetics. Proper planning during the reconstruction phase ensure the project is feasible, efficient, and meets all relevant codes and standards. Our experienced team of professionals  is well-versed in preconstruction services, allowing us to develop custom designs and more efficient builds. Our client in Tollgate, Utah, utilizes this structure to store, clean, and maintain commercial vehicles. Partition walls were incorporated into the design to separate the bays. This location is at approximately 8,000′ elevation and requires a 176 PSF snow load. Due to the high snow load, the Engineer designed this structure with wide-flange secondary rafters instead of standard z-purlins.

Choose the Right Construction Materials.

Choosing suitable materials and construction techniques is essential to creating a successful non-residential project. High-quality building materials and sound construction methods provide an excellent foundation for a lasting finished product. Consider environmental impacts such as energy efficiency, durability, and overall costs when selecting materials and techniques for your next project. Utilizing sustainable practices and Western’s pre-engineered, hybrid, or structural steel building solutions will help ensure the best value for your investment. This building was designed to sit on a 4′ concrete stem wall. It was also loaded to support a 10-ton crane in one of the bays used to remove heavy equipment. The building also has a 16’x60′ open lean-to for covered vehicle storage.
