Welcome to Cave Creek, Arizona a small town right outside of Phoenix that fully embodies the old west style and spirit. Here you’ll find a close-knit community and a gorgeous landscape with lots to offer. Located deep in the heart of Cave Creek is a community staple named, The Buffalo Chip Saloon and Steakhouse. This establishment was founded in 1951 as a bait and feed shop, but has since evolved into an entertainment complex that is most definitely one-of-a-kind.
About The Chip
The Chip is internationally known, hosting multiple rodeos throughout the week attracting spectators by the thousands to watch members of their community compete in bull riding and mutton busting. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, they’ve also been voted “Arizona’s Best Western Saloon and Restaurant” serving some of the tastiest barbecue around. The Buffalo Chip Saloon holds various events throughout the year from live music to dance lessons and hosts a cowboy church on Sundays aptly named Church at the Chip. Originally the venue was just one single structure that spanned 800 square feet, however, to accommodate their evolution of entertainment, there are now multiple buildings totaling 6,000 square feet as the compound grew from 1 to 9 acres. The Saloon’s newest addition to the entertainment complex is a 54’x50’x10′ open air steel pavilion pre-fabricated by our team at Western Steel Buildings. This metal structure was a DIY success and installed in just a few short days by Saloon employees and congregation members of Church at the Chip.
After speaking with the owner Larry Wendt it seems the only regret they have about building the pavilion is that they didn’t do it sooner. This space is well utilized, providing patrons with a space is a to kick back, enjoy a drink from the bar, or root for your favorite sports team with easy viewing from TVs placed throughout. When the space isn’t being used as an outdoor saloon, it’s utilized for private events, parties and is a meeting place for cowboy church every Sunday.
