The Dream Ride Experience

At Western Steel Buildings, we’re on cloud nine after sponsoring and participating in the 22nd Dream Ride Experience this past weekend in Farmington, CT. The event is hosted each year by The Hometown Foundation, a non-profit that benefits the Special Olympics, Veterans, pet rescues, and more. To date, The Hometown Foundation has raised over 7.7 million for the Special Olympics!

Dream Riders from around the world were in attendance and participated in various activities throughout the weekend. Perhaps the biggest highlight was the Dream Cruise, when Dream Riders rode in one of the hundreds of exotic vehicles for a 12-mile police-escorted cruise through the Farmington Valley. After, the Dream Riders were dropped off on the red carpet to kick off the weekend party. The weekend also included the Paws for a Cause pet adoption expo, Firefighters Chili-Cook-Off, Police K-9 Challenge and Demonstration, fishing derby, live music, raffles, craft vendors, food trucks, mini-golf, swimming, inflatables, and more family-friendly fun for the whole community.

There was much to celebrate! The Hometown Foundation raised 3.5 million for charity, and a record number of attendees joined with a focus on community involvement and inclusion. We met many amazing people, longtime ambassadors for the event, kind community members, and more. It was an unforgettable weekend for all. A few extra notable highlights, thanks to our WSB sponsorship, attendees from the Utah Special Olympics chapter were able to join for the first time! Another highlight was watching Western Steel Buildings’ CEO Mike Bermes return to his firefighter roots and take dream riders on a 21′ firetruck for an unforgettable Dream Cruise. We bought our metal building for our barndominium from Western Steel and they were so great to work with! Jayson was our project manager and he answered every question we had throughout the process. We had problems when the building was delivered with some pieces being missing, but we called and they had the rest of the pieces to us within a week. Definitely recommend working with Jayson and Western Steel.

I researched companies and options a lot before choosing Western Steel. They were referred to me by a contractor friend that has used them exclusively. Now I know why. I had heard about Western Steel though working in the construction industry around Utah. Western Steel Buildings, and their team, especially Mark Blume and Wes Jones have time and again shown their industry knowledge though our interactions. As an Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) specialist installer, we have worked very closely with Mark and Wes on a number of projects which have always been handled professionally and thoughtfully as anyone might expect from a top tier company like Western.However, I’m writing this review today because of the above and beyond actions their team has shown our company and this industry. These folks are genuinely the most knowledgeable and passionate our company has contacted and worked with.Mark recently advised on some products that would aid in the install of a roof system we are currently preforming for the military which has saved us some time and money resulting in us landing the contract.I am not saying call these guys for free advice, I’m just saying their expertise is not found anywhere else in the industry! Western Steel Buildings is very good to work with. I'm very happy with the building. I did some parts of the construction myself and subcontracted some parts. They were helpful in that process. Everything was there in the first shipment, which turns out to be important when your subcontractor is on site with a crew and ready to go.

The Salt Lake Astronomical Society purchased a steel building from Western Steel Buildings. It is 45'X25'X10'high sitting on top of 8-foot high concrete walls. The building houses the largest amateur telescope in the world and the choice of building was perfect for our needs.Western Steel Buildings was very good to work with and the building was very cost effective. I am very pleased with the quality of the building, its looks and how easy they made the purchase and construction phase. They lined up the contractor to erect the building and that company did an excellent job.I won't hesitate to once again purchase from Western Steel Building when we have additional needs
